Based in Nariño, Colombia, Procaal operates at origin, supporting smallholder producers through a transparent, quality-driven supply chain. With their extensive knowledge of processing and export, they ensure that each coffee is carefully guided from harvest to shipment, preserving its integrity and character throughout the process.

How it Started

Apex Coffee Imports began working with Procaal in 2019 to gain closer access to producers who were already cultivating exceptional coffees but lacked consistent market access. Since then, the partnership has grown steadily, with some of our most dynamic and expressive coffees emerging from this relationship.

Their Approach and Philosophy

Procaal is led by Pablo Guerrero and José Gómez, who are producers first and exporters second. As farmers, they have a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities at origin, and they apply their technical expertise on their own farms while also sharing it with the producers they work with. Their collaborative approach is rooted in the belief that quality is built collectively, and that long-term relationships are essential to meaningful progress.
